THERE'S nothing worse than finding a forgotten outfit in the back of your wardrobe only to realize it smells moldy.

A cleaning fanatic has shared her DIY hack for tackling mildew in your closet.

In her video, Chantel Mila (@mama_mila_) demonstrated how to make her two-ingredient bag to protect your clothes.

For her first step, the TikToker partially filled a small drawstring pouch with dry rice.

"Put clove oil in uncooked rice and place it inside your wardrobe to prevent mold and keep your clothes fresh," she advised her audience.

"Add 10 drops of clove oil to half a cup of rice," Chantel said, breaking down her recipe.

The drops of clove oil work not only leave your clothes smelling amazing but can also work to deter pests.

"Place inside your wardrobe to prevent mold, and pests, and to keep your clothes fresh," she said.

According to the experts at Biome Stores, clove oil has natural antifungal properties.

"One of the main reasons oil of clove is a popular mold remover is that it actually kills the spores, rather than just bleaching and hiding them," the professionals explained.

This prevents the fungus from growing back and helps to reduce health risks.

The experts at Taste of Home discussed the benefits of clove oil as an insect repellant.

"While the whole cloves will repel and prevent stink bugs, clove oil will kill them off," they explained.

Pest control pros recommend clove oil for combatting everything from worms and aphids to mites.

Chantel also advised her followers to use essential oils to make a "calming linen spray."

She mixed the ingredient with a cup of water and a tablespoon of rubbing alcohol before spraying the solution on her bed.
